Position Title:
Summer Intern in Bayesian Computation
Duties & Responsibilities:
The summer intern will work with PhD statisticians to develop R functions to implement cutting edge Monte Carlo Bayesian algorithms for various predictive models such as: 1. The seemingly unrelated regressions (SUR) model 2. The SUR model with mixed effects 3. State space models 4. Nonlinear mixed-effects models
Position Qualifications:
* Doctoral student in Statistics or Biostatistics and have completed at least two years of graduate study in Statistics or Biostatistics. * Student must be enrolled in a US University and be authorized to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of, their summer intern employment. * Strong working knowledge of the R programming language. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of Bayesian statistics * Knowledge of Bayesian and Monte Carlo computing algorithms. * Knowledge of the R/Excel interface (optional but desirable) * Knowledge of the SAS/IML language (optional but desirable)
