Position Title: Assistant Professor – Statistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (http://www.uncw.edu/math) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in statistics at the assistant professor level starting August 2012. The chosen candidate will be expected to develop excellence in teaching; including introductory and advanced statistics courses, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, expectations for this position include development of an ongoing research program and service to the department and university. Degree programs offered by the department include a bachelor of science in statistics along with a master of science in mathematics that contains a significant statistical component.

Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or a closely related field is required or must be obtained within first academic year of employment.
