The department ranked fourth in the nation according to a recent evaluation published in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The faculty have world-recognized strengths in many areas of biostatistical research, including innovative clinical trial design, brain imaging, oncostatistics, statistical genetics, analysis of categorical data, clustered data analysis, empirical Bayes methods, longitudinal analyses, missing data, sequential experimentation, survival analysis, and other areas of application.
