University of Wisconsin-Madison
PostDoc at the interface of biology, statistics, and bioinformatics

An interdisciplinary team at UW-Madison is inviting
applications for a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral
fellow to work at the interface of biology, statistics,
and bioinformatics. Our group consists of
of a biochemistry/genetics laboratory studying the
genetics of diabetes, and a number of faculty
in statistics and computer science.  Our joint group
has amassed an unprecedented amount of genetics and
genomics data in a study of diabetes susceptibility genes,
pathways, and networks. The postdoc will
work closely with members of our group, focusing
on the analysis and integration of data from
microarray, QTL and eQTL mapping, genome wide association, and
related studies.  The ideal candidate will
hold a Ph.D. in computer science, biostatistics,
statistics, or a related field,
be well versed in R, and be comfortable working at the interface
of biology and statistics.  Candidates with a Ph.D. in
genetics or molecular biology, and substantial quantitative
expertise, are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should send a letter describing their past
education, research, and future goals, a curriculum vitae,
and names and contact information of at least three references.
