Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Biomathematics

Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry has an immediate opening for one postdoctoral fellow position in biomathematical modeling. The potential candidates are expected to have a strong background in applied mathematics or engineering (Ph.D. required), especially in differential equations or stochastic models. Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in mathematical modeling of biomedical systems (in particular, immunology and infectious diseases modeling). The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with immunologists and virologists to develop mathematical models for immune response to viral infection based on immunological experiment data. Experience in computer simulations, numerical analysis and statistics is a plus. Good communication skills and computing techniques are essential. The position requires close collaboration with immunologists, statisticians, and computer software developers to develop immune response modeling and simulation systems. The position is for one year with potential renewal for more years subject to performance and funding availability. The scientific environment is conducive to professional development.
