Postdoctoral Positions
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Statistical Genetics and Genomics
Two postdoctoral fellowship positions available in the Laboratory of Statistical Genetics and Genomics of Professor Hongzhe Li at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (http://www.cceb.upenn.edu/~hli/). The positions are for two-years and can be extended for additional years. Postdoctoral researchers will collaborate with Dr. Hongzhe Li on development of new statistical, probabilistic and computational methods for analysis of genetic and high-throughput genomic data and applications of these methods to several large genome-wide association studies of neuroblastoma and childhood obesity at Penn and genomic and proteomic studies of ageing and cancer, through collaborations with researchers at Penn School of Medicine School. The focus of our methodological research has been on statistical methods for analysis of genetic data with graphical structures and methods for dealing with genetic heterogeneity and gene-gene interactions in GWA studies.
Successful applicants will have office space in Penn Center for Genetics and Complex Traits. Suitable applications will hold a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics or other related fields. Strong quantitative and computational skills are required. Applicants should email a CV and arrange 2-3 reference letters sent to Dr. Li (hongzhe@mail.med.upenn.edu).
