ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF APPLIED STATISTICS AND RESEARCH METHODS

1. Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Applied Statistics and Research Methods (Tenure Track)
2. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related area with emphasis in statistical applications. The successful candidate will have a developed program of research or show evidence of strong research potential in the areas of statistical methodology and/or applications of statistics with the ability or potential to direct doctoral dissertations. Demonstrated excellence, or potential for excellence, in teaching, consulting experience, and statistical programming skills are also required. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise complements the expertise and interests of other faculty in the Applied Statistics and Research Methods program.
3. Position Description: Responsibilities of this position include teaching graduate courses in statistical methodology, especially Experimental Design and statistical programming, teaching other graduate statistics and/or research methodology courses, directing graduate research, supervising graduate student consultants in our Research Consulting Lab, and advising students. Experience in education and/or the behavioral sciences is desirable. University and professional service are expected, as well as ongoing scholarly activity and grant writing.
4. Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, life and dental insurances and employee retirement programs in accordance with University policies.
5. Starting Date: August 16, 2008.

7. Location and Environment: The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley. The enrollment is approximately 11,800 students with about 550 faculty members. The Greeley community is located 50 miles north of Denver, 50 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park, and has a population of about 100,000.
This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
