The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Maryland, Baltimore has a Part Time Statistician position working with our interdisciplinary research teams on federally-funded studies. One project involves a landmark, multi-site longitudinal study involving high-risk families - concerning issues of child abuse and neglect. Another aims to prevent child abuse and neglect via a model of enhanced pediatric primary care.

RESPONSIBILITIES include conducting statistical analyses, distilling and presenting data to our teams, helping prepare presentations and papers for publication, and reports for the funding agencies. Another key responsibility involves maintaining the databases with necessary documentation. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires Master's degree in statistics plus 2 years experience conducting statistical analyses or other business experience. Experience working with SPSS and large datasets is important as is competence with a variety of multivariate analyses. Knowledge of statistical analyses for longitudinal data (eg, HLM) is a plus. Must have ability to work independently, yet be a good team player. Solid oral and written communication skills are needed. Good opportunities exist for co-authorship on manuscripts and presentations.
