Company Overview:

A part of the University of California, San Francisco, the Center for Cerebrovascular Research is a core group of faculty and staff pursuing various lines of inquiry in clinical neuroscience and genetic epidemiology. Our main laboratories and facilities are located at the San Francisco General Hospital campus. Clinical research offices are located on the Parnassus campus. The theme is integrative physiology of the cerebral circulation with special reference to cerebral vascular malformations and occlusive cerebrovascular disease. In addition, there are allied and collaborating faculty in a number of neuroscience and vascular biology fields. The Center operates under the umbrella of the UCSF Center for Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease (CSCVD). The research work, supported by NINDS and the UCSF home departments-Anesthesia, Neurological Surgery and Neurology-is made possible by an outstanding interdiscipinary collaboration between clinical, translational and basic science investigators. Position Overview:

- Job Summary: Assist in design of queries to extract medical and scientific data from several clinical databases; ensure quality and integrity of data and data cleaning; and synthesize, analyze and present data at meetings.  Assist investigators in analyzing datasets for grant proposals or manuscripts, and perform other duties as assigned.


- Required Qualifications: BS/BA with four years of working experience in research. Proficiency in STATA programming or other commonly used statistical software package, and MS Excel. Experience with survival analysis and power calculations necessary. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well both independently and in a team.


- Preferred Qualifications: MS/MPH in biostatistics/epidemiology or genetics. Experience with basic genetic analyses is desirable.
