Biostatistics Faculty Position
Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in biostatistics to begin Fall 2008. (Higher rank is possible for exceptional candidates.) Successful candidates will possess a Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field, along with demonstrated potential as a researcher and teacher.
The Department of Statistics (www.stat.uci.edu), in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (www.ics.uci.edu), has a strong interdisciplinary flavor. The faculty are focused on developing methods to solve applied problems and advancing the statistical theory that underlies those methods. Started in 2002, the Department now has 8 faculty members and is still growing. The successful candidate will participate in UC Irvine’s Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) (www.icts.uci.edu), an interdisciplinary group working to improve the process by which technological and laboratory advances find their way into clinical practice.
