Research Associate or postdoc
Body: We are seeking an
applicant with a Ph.D. in statistics,
biostatistics, statistical genetics or a related field. We are offering
an
appointment at either the research associate or postdoctoral level.
Programming
ability and experience with languages such as C, C++, Java or similar
is
required, and knowledge of R is preferred. The successful candidate
will be
primarily responsible for methods and software development and data
analysis.
This NIH-funded project
focuses on the analysis of complex,
multi-generational mouse pedigrees and will implement statistical
approaches in
order to address genotype/phenotype correlations. The project has
aspects of
genome-wide association as well as pedigree-based linkage and
association,
permutation and simulation. This project will provide extensive
opportunities
for collaboration and publication. Candidates will have the opportunity
to
regularly interact with a dynamic team of junior and senior level
researchers
at the University of Chicago in the Department of Human Genetics,
Statistics, Genetics
Medicine, Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. Faculty will be
available to provide
guidance and training as needed and consistent with the goals of the
project.
