Teaching load is 12 credits per semester of undergraduate statistics courses, or a commensurate number of credits of graduate courses when our Master’s program commences. Ability to teach and/or perform effectively; scholarly achievement or research; continued preparation and study; contribution to student growth and development, and service to the university and community.
A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or Mathematics with strong statistics emphasis by the appointment date (August 19, 2008) is required. University level teaching experience is highly desirable. Statistical consulting experience is also desirable. A record of scholarly publications or evidence of strong potential for scholarly and professional activity are highly desired, especially in one or more of the following areas: computational data analysis (including MCMC methods or informatics), generalized linear models, survival analysis, Bayesian analysis, data mining. The successful candidate would have demonstrated an ability to teach and to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
We are a growing department with 4 full time, 2 part time, and 1 adjunct Statistics faculty. We are hopeful to begin our approved Master’s program in Statistics by Fall of 2008 and a possible master’s program in collaboration with other departments.
