Assistant Research Scientist/Data Analyst

The Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) of New York University School of Medicine seeks to recruit a Master’s level colleague for quantitative programming and analysis of health research data. Collaborate with and serve as liaison among DGIM researchers (fellows, faculty and residents), PhD Biostatistician(s) and other faculty and investigators.  Assist fellows and faculty in analyzing a variety of simple and complex research databases in Microsoft Access, Excel, and SPSS.  Assist fellows in developing programs for accessing and analyzing data from existing databases and in merging data from multiple sources, preparing descriptions of data analyses for grants and IRB protocols, producing periodic study reports, tables and graphs, and assisting with preparing slides for presentation. Assist in protocol preparation including description of study design and sample size considerations and preparation of analytic plan; assist in preparation of descriptive data analyses including summary statistics, tables and graphical displays; and, assist in other basic statistical analyses and in manuscript preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters in Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics degree and 2-5 years experience required working in similar position and with relevant experience.  Knowledge of fundamental quantitative methods, clinical research, and study design.  Excellent interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
