TITLE: Genetic Biostatistician/Genetic Epidemiologist/SAS Programmer

General Summary:
Responsible for providing the statistical management and analysis of genetic data for different research projects. This position will be with the Center for Genetic Epidemiology and Modeling(CGEM,) http://160.109.101.132/icrhps/resprog/cgem/default.asp, which provides analytic support to the Tufts-New England Medical Center (NEMC) and Tufts University School of Medicine genetic and genomic research community.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works with CGEM staff to provide statistical and programming
support for funded genetic research projects, including programming
new routines using SAS, R, and special genetic packages, as well as
helping with tables, graphs, presentations and literature searches.
2. Assists to other researchers in Tufts-NEMC and Tufts-affiliated
hospitals with the design of experiments and the analysis of genetic
data.
3. Participate in the general statistical work of the Division
including attending weekly research meetings and meetings with staff
statisticians.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. M.S. in statistics or biostatistics, genetic epidemiology, or
related field, required.
2. One to two year’s experience, preferably in a medical research
environment is desired.
3. Experience in computer programming, managing
large databases and analyzing biomedical and genetic data is
required. Experience with SAS or R programming is required. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools is
required. Experience with genetic packages,
such as FBAT/PBAT and PLINK, is preferable.
