Research Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking applicants with a
Batchelor, Master or Doctorate degree in biostatistics or statistics
for a research position within the Laboratory of Neurogenetics. Our
current team consists of ~15 scientific staff, with ongoing scientific
collaborations in more than 20 countries, focused on
neurological/neurodegenerative disease. The candidate should have a
working knowledge of a major statistical software package (SAS, Stata
or S-Plus) and some experience in computing. Experience with genetic
packages such as PLINK for genome-wide datasets would also be
advantageous. Experience in managing large databases, organizing data
searches, planning analytical approaches, and analyzing biomedical and
genetic data is desirable. The candidate is expected to identify
technical problems and help work on statistical approaches to address
the issues. In addition, the candidate will be expected to keep abreast
of relevant literature that is pertinent to ongoing or planned research
projects. It will be important for the candidate to help publish
original discoveries. The candidate should also have good interpersonal
skills to be able to work in a team environment. Salary will be
commensurate with experience.
