The Mid America Heart Institute at Saint Luke’s Hospital is seeking a biostatistician to support its growing cardiovascular outcomes research program. This position will work closely with clinical researchers both locally and nationally on outcomes research initiatives, including consultation, statistical analysis and assistance with proposals, presentations and manuscripts. Requirements include MS or PhD in biostatistics or statistics and at least 2 years hands-on experience working with complex data structures via SAS. Self-motivation, critical thinking and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience with clinical data, additional statistical tools such as R or S-Plus, data management and SQL are desirable.

The Heart Institute is an internationally recognized center for excellence in cardiovascular care, education and research. In addition to its numerous programs, it is the directing site for the Cardiovascular Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC), a network of national leaders devoted to collaborative efforts in outcomes assessment and quality improvement.
