Harvard Biostatistics,
Postdoctoral Research Positions

Openings for two postdoctoral researchers in the Department of
Biostatistics at Harvard School of Public Health/Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute. The positions involve methodological and applied work in
(1) cancer surveillance and (2) analysis
of high-dimensional genomic and proteomic data.

For the cancer surveillance position, potential methodological areas
are longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, modern multivariate
analysis (large p, small n), hidden Markov modeling and Bayesian
statistics. Potential areas of application are cancer surveillance,
cancer trend analysis, cancer disease mapping and health
disparities. This position will be supervised by Dr. Yi Li. In
your application, please reference "PO1 project 2".

For the genomics/proteomics project, the researcher will develop and
apply statistical and computational methods for analysis of
high-throughput genomic and proteomic data in population-based and
clinical studies. We seek an individual with strong statistical,
computing and genetic backgrounds and who has expertise in some subset
of high-dimensional data analysis, statistical genomics, genome-wide
analysis, gene-environment interaction, and proteomics. This position
will be supervised by Dr. Xihong Lin. In your application, please
reference "P01 project 3".

A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics or a related
quantitative field is required. Additional qualifications are
programming experience in R or Matlab, as well as excellent written
and oral communication skills.

Applications will be considered as they arrive, starting in April 2008.

Informal questions can be sent to Chris Paciorek
(paciorek@hsph.harvard.edu). To apply, send cover letter describing
your research interests and interest in the position, with CV and
names of three references. Application materials should be sent by
email (preferred) to biostat_postdoc@hsph.harvard.edu, or mail to
