A position is available for a Master’s level biostatistician to join a group of biostatisticians supporting research in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Cystic Fibrosis Center in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Primary responsibilities will be to provide statistical design and analysis consultation and support in a team environment to basic, clinical, and translational research projects carried out by physicians, scientists, and other researchers. This individual will collaborate with other biostatisticians and will also function as lead statistician on some studies.

Requirements

Qualifications: Requires a master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a collaborative biostatistician, preferably in medical research. Essential Skills: Highly organized, with decision-making skills, initiative, and ability to work with limited supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility and ability to interact with a diverse research team and investigators. Desirable skills include background/understanding of medical terminology, clinical/translational/basic research, clinical trials, and/or cancer research. Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise and experience in use of SAS for statistical programming, data manipulation, and data analysis, and in use of other statistical software (e.g., S-plus, R, SPSS) including methods for longitudinal analysis, survival analysis, and linear and logistic regression. Experience in use of SAS macros and programming in SAS/IML is desirable. Experience and familiarity with Windows-based personal computers and software.
