Biostatistician,
Epidemiology and Biostatistics (Job No. 7897), minimum annual salary

The
objective of the position is to provide biostatistical and data
management support to the Genetic Analysis and Data Coordinating
Center for the Family Investigation of Nephropathy and Diabetes
(FIND) Study. The biostatistician will play a leadership role in all
aspects of data analyses, data management and report generation for
ongoing epidemiological research projects. The biostatistician will
be integrally involved in all aspects of research project design,
quality assurance monitoring, preparation of research reports and
grant applications. This position functions under minimal
supervision. Requirements: Experience -- Position requires a minimum
of three years of work experience in an increasingly responsible
position in biomedical research or social science research
environment housed in a university, nonprofit research organization
or similar setting. Education/Licensing -- A Masters degree in
biostatistics or equivalent is required. Essential Skills -- Ability
to work semi-independently with direct but limited guidance; Ability
to work and communicate knowledgably in collaboration with other team
members including geneticists, statisticians, investigators,
clinicians, programmers, project coordinators and study coordinators;
Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility and the
ability to interact with a diverse and large research team. Technical
Skills -- Hands-on experience in Lotus Notes and Web databases;
Ability to use Microsoft office products such as Word, Power Point,
Excel and Access; Ability to use statistical software packages, such
as S-Plus and SAS, and familiarity with statistical genetics software
packages, such as S.A.G.E., a necessity.
