You will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on the Nation’s air transportation and aviation modernization program, helping to build the Next Generation Air Traffic Control System. You will use your analytical skills to analyze current air traffic operations and to identify current problems and assess projected solutions to meet the nation’s future air traffic demand and complexity. You will use your analytical and statistical skills to help formulate the issues and challenges, and help develop alternative solutions. You will use your mathematical modeling and simulation skills to build analytical models, fast-time simulation and real-time simulation air traffic control models and prototypes to evaluate alternative solutions. You will present your analysis and recommendations to senior decision makers across the government and industry. You will have access to numerous resources including a world-class state-of-the-art air traffic control laboratory, aviation expertise and an unrivalled aviation knowledge-base system to conduct your research.
You will need to have a Bachelor or Master degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related field.
You will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills.
You will need to be a U.S. Citizen or be Permanent Resident.
