Research Faculty Position in Biostatistics (Open Rank)


One research faculty position is available in the Biostatistics Section of the Department of Community Health, Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The appointment can be made at any rank commensurate with candidate qualifications and will be available as early as summer 2008.


The new faculty member will join a highly interdisciplinary Biostatistics faculty of ten and will be a member of the Center for Statistical Sciences. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program in statistical methodology and to become involved in interdisciplinary research in the clinical evaluation of diagnostic tests and biomarkers. The new faculty will also have the opportunity to participate in the educational program in Biostatistics.


Candidates for an associate or full professor position should have an outstanding research record in biostatistics and significant experience in interdisciplinary research. Candidates for an assistant professor position should provide evidence of outstanding potential for methodologic and interdisciplinary research. Candidates at all ranks should have completed the requirements for a doctorate in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field by the beginning of their appointment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required of all candidates.
