The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in statistics beginning September, 2009. A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or related statistical field is required. Evidence of teaching excellence and research potential is required. All areas of interest will be considered though candidates with expertise in biostatistics, Bayesian statistics, survey sampling, or financial statistics are strongly encourage to apply. The successful candidate is expected to teach a broad range of statistics courses to undergraduate and graduate students and to collaborate with faculty from various disciplines.
