Bayesian Model Selection and
Objective Methods
January 11-12, 2008
The workshop will focus on recent developments in
the area of Bayesian model selection and those aspects of objective
methods that have to do with model selection. A major purpose of the
workshop is to discuss the many recent significant developments in
Bayesian model selection; to discuss practical implementation; and to
identify important problems and new research directions. All sessions
are plenary, and the invited speakers include Merlise Clyde, Ming-Hui
Chen, David Draper, Dean Foster, Ed George, Michael
Jordan, David Madigan, Glen Meeden, Adrian Raftery, Marina Vannucci,
Yuhong Yang. The workshop will also include a contributed poster
session. There is funding to support a limited number of young
researchers to attend the workshop.
The organizing committee is soliciting
applications from senior graduate students (4th year or higher) and
researchers who received their Ph.D. in or after 2003. Applications
include a one-page curriculum vitae, a one-page abstract, and two
reference letters, including a major professor who is supervising (or
has supervised) the applicant's research. Researchers receiving support
are expected to present their work at the poster session. Applications
should be submitted by December 03, 2007.
Women and under-represented groups are encouraged to apply. The funding
applications and workshop registration link are found below. E-mails
