    This focused symposium, sponsored by the Department of Statistics and its Nonparametric Research Group, will include talks from the following invited speakers:

    • Joseph Gastwirth, George Washington University
    • Thomas Hettmansperger, Pennsylvania State University
    • Myles Hollander, Florida State University
    • Jana Jurecková, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic
    • Regina Liu, Rutgers University
    • John Marden, University of Illinois
    • Hannu Oja, University of Jyväskylä, Finland
    • William Schucany, Southern Methodist University
    • Pranab K. Sen, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
     
    The symposium will concentrate largely on the following topics:
    • multivariate methods
    • rank based methods
    • patterned alternatives
    • resampling methods
     
    The program will include talks by the invited speakers and a contributed poster session.

    The featured dinner speaker on Friday night will be Robert Hogg, University of Iowa.
