| Abstract: | The iterative restricted maximum likelihood (REML) method is popularly used to analyze data from repeated measures or "split-plot" experiments. While REML has attractive large sample properties for normal data, it can perform poorly in the presence of "outliers" or systematic departures from normality. In this talk, a non-iterative robust alternative to REML, called the RAVE method, will be presented, and illustrated using data from a 2x2 crossover study. |
