Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Biostatistics, Columbia University. The position involves methodological and applied research in statistical genomics and quantile regression with Dr. Ying Wei and Dr. Iuliana Ionita-Laza. Examples of possible projects include introducing quantile regression to various types of genetic studies such as whole-genome sequencing data, gene expression, proteomics and functional annotations to understand complex diseases. The environment is multidisciplinary, involving collaborations with scientists investigating the genetics of complex diseases, such as diabetes and cancers. Beyond Columbia, the New York area provides excellent environment with numerous universities and the newly opened New York Genome Center.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a strong quantitative background, with a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or other quantitative field, and strong programming skills. Background in genetics is desirable but not mandatory.
