Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Statistical Genetics Unit in the Laboratory of Genetics and Genomics at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in genetics/genomics. Our group focuses on developing statistical and computational tools for genetic studies and applying them to the analyses of aging-related traits and conditions. The prospective fellow will work on analyses of genetic variants impacting complex diseases (e.g., neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s Disease) and aging using next-generation sequencing data (e.g., whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing, RNA-Seq, and single-cell DNA-Seq). The postdoctoral fellow will also have opportunities to collaborate with researchers in other laboratories at the institute.

Position Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Human Genetics, Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, or other relevant discipline. Applicants who are familiar with at least one programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, Python) and at least one statistical package (e.g., SAS, R, MatLab) are preferable, but candidates who have training in biology and are motivated to extend their use of quantitative approaches are welcome to apply.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
