The UPenn Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI) has an excellent program in education and research and is part of the Center of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, with core faculty including 35 biostatisticians,13 doctoral epidemiologists, 38 clinician epidemiologists, 4 doctoral informaticians, as well as 104 affiliated faculty.

Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties and Responsibilities: This postion will offer opportunities to develop novel statistical methods for the analyses of error prone electronic health records data, as part of a project funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute. Duties include working with a team led by principal investigators, Pamela Shaw (University of Pennsylvania) and Bryan Shepherd (Vanderbilt University), to develop and apply novel statistical methods for analysis and design to address potentially correlated data errors in outcomes and key exposures. Opportunities to develop software to implement these methods are also a possibility. We are hiring 2 post-docs for this project – one at the University of Pennsylvania and the other at Vanderbilt; please see related announcement from Vanderbilt University. The position is open until filled and the appointment is for two and half years.

Position Qualifications: PhD. in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Experience with methods for measurement error, missing data, and two-phase/survey sampling is desired. Strong statistical knowledge and computation skills are required.
