This position would be joint between Dr. Chen and Dr. Boland’s research laboratories focusing on development of informatics and statistical methods that integrate data/evidence to learn novel clinical knowledge. The focus will be on methods/algorithm development with a goal of contributing software/algorithms and making them shareable in open platforms (e.g., github, shared research websites). One example project will be developing informatics algorithms that utilize Electronic Health Record data to understand the effects of environmental exposures on fertility and associated medical conditions. This may include developing bias reduction methods, distributed computing algorithms, and/or risk prediction models.
More details about Dr. Chen’s and Dr. Boland’s research are available via their Lab websites, Dr. Boland’s URL: http://www.med.upenn.edu/bolandlab, Dr. Chen’s URL: https://dbe.med.upenn.edu/biostat-research/YongChen
