Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Statistics (Position #00019787)

Duties and Responsibilities: The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Department of Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The position will be a full time, 9-month, academic-year appointment with the Department of Statistics. The successful applicant will be involved with developing and/or maintaining a successful research program; developing and/or maintaining excellent teaching skills in both undergraduate and graduate courses; and will provide service to the Department as needed. The candidate in this position will be responsible for teaching up to 4 courses per year, and serve as a research advisor to graduate students. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute substantially to the College’s research theme: Linking Ecosystems and Health in Rural Populations.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualification:
PhD in Statistics or related area
Ability to teach graduate level courses in Statistics
Evidence of ability to conduct research in Statistics
Evidence of ability to advise graduate students in research
Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualification:
Experience in teaching courses in Statistics

Ability to teach graduate level classes in the area of Biostatistics
Experience in advising graduate students
Have research papers published in Statistics/Biostatistics or related journals
Have conducted research in Biostatistics focusing on human population health

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
