Position Title: Biostatistics – Open Rank Professor (Log#19-094)

Duties and Responsibilities: The School of Public Health is currently seeking enthusiastic applicants for the following tenure-track position:

Open Rank Professor, Biostatistics (Log# 19-094)

The School of Public Health is seeking an outstanding scholar to join the core faculty in the area of Biostatistics housed in a multi-disciplinary graduate public health program. Applicants should demonstrate research achievement in the statistical and quantitative sciences, including a strong potential for collaborative research with extramural funding support. The selected candidate will be expected to maintain their own research program, conduct collaborative work with public health researchers, and contribute to graduate teaching and mentoring. Teaching assignments will depend on the expertise and interests of the candidate as well as departmental priorities, but may include graduate-level introductory biostatistics and statistical computing courses.

Rank and tenure status at time of hire will be determined based on candidate experience, accomplishments, and years in service.

Position Qualifications: A terminal degree is required in one of a variety of disciplines, including Biostatistics or Statistics. For persons in related fields with advanced analytic skills, there must be evidence of a specific doctoral or postdoctoral training emphasis in an associated domain such as applied statistics or quantitative methodology. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, collaborative academic environment as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior teaching experience in a university setting and experience in applied statistical research and publishing is highly desirable.
