Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Statistics and Public Health

Duties and Responsibilities: The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Department of Statistics and Department of Public Health invite applications for a tenure-track or a tenured faculty position. The position will be a full time, 9-month, academic-year appointment with approximately 60% of time devoted to the Department of Statistics and 40% of time devoted to the Department of Public Health. The successful applicant will be involved with collaborative applied and methodological research, consulting, and teaching; will be responsible for teaching up to 4 courses per year split between the Statistics and the Public Health departments; and will develop and maintain an active research program in biostatistics focusing on human population health. Opportunities for involvement in consultation activities in biostatistics, public health and epidemiology may be available. In addition, there will be opportunities to work in cancer prevention research, community based participatory research, and clinical trial research.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualification:
PhD in Statistics or related area
Graduate-level teaching experience in Statistics
Experience in public health or human population health related research
Evidence of ability to successfully pursue external grants
Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualification:
PhD in Biostatistics
MPH or other related public health advanced degree
Publication records in peer-reviewed journals in Statistics and Public Health
Experience in collaborative research within the department and with other units throughout the university
Experience in advising graduate students

Evidence of successfully obtaining external grants
