Position Title: Postdoctoral Associate

Duties and Responsibilities: Duke University is inviting applicants for a Postdoctoral Associate to work under the direction of Professors David Dunson and Sandeep Dave on the development of novel data analytic methods motivated by cancer genomic data. The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or will be finishing up a PhD) in Statistics or a closely related field, and will have a substantial background in theory and methods related to high-dimensional data analysis. The position involves spending time in Dr. Dave’s lab learning about the data and helping his team conduct state-of-the-art analyses of their data, while also working under the direction of Dr. Dunson on novel statistical methods development. The position will involve a combination of collaborative work leading to co-authored publications in leading scientific journals, and theory and methods work leading to first-authored publications in leading statistical journals.

NOTE: Dr Dunson also has multiple other postdoctoral associate positions including in analysis of large network data and in nonparametric Bayes methods, so apply even if the position isn’t a perfect fit

Position Qualifications: PhD in Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related field. Ideally experience in computation and high-dimensional data analysis

Salary Range: $65,000
