Postdoctoral Associate
University of Rochester

Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, located in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester, has a long record of excellence in methodologic and collaborative research. The Department currently has 18 faculty in the tenure and research tracks with research interests spanning traditional biostatistics, stochastic modeling, bioinformatics and computational biology.

The Department offers masters and doctoral degrees and has an active postdoctoral program supported by research and training grants. We have strong collaborative relationships with Anesthesiology, Biomedical Genetics, the Cancer Center, Cardiology, Environmental Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Public Health Sciences and many other departments, centers and units throughout the School. We are also an important contributor to the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of the University of Rochester.

Position Title: Postdoctoral Associate

Duties and Responsibilities: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the University of Rochester Medical Center under the supervision of Dr. Matthew N McCall. The postdoctoral associate will work as part of a collaborative team of Biostatisticians, Computational Biologists, and Biomedical Geneticists to advance our understanding of complex biological systems by developing and applying statistical methods that quantify both biological and technical sources of variation.

Ongoing research projects include developing methods to: (1) estimate cellular regulatory networks from perturbations, (2) preprocess and analyze genomic data with an emphasis on clinical applications, (3) address within-subject heterogeneity in genomic tumor biomarkers, and (4) model the effect of cellular composition on tissue-level gene expression.
