Position Title: Biostatistician

Duties and Responsibilities: This position provides statistical support for all phases of analytic process. Specific responsibilities include developing the statistical analysis plans, working with our customers to come up with a risk and reliability adjustment approach, writing and executing analytic programming in SQL and SAS, building & validating the risk adjustment models, interpreting and communicating analytic process and findings to the internal or external stakeholders. You will also work with data operations, client services and product delivery teams to build data solutions to feed our healthcare performance-measurement and analytic web applications. These applications help our clients optimize the quality and cost-efficiency of hospital and specialty care.
We are looking for technical, organized, and strong communicators to facilitate product delivery for our clients. This includes all aspects of analytic projects including: designing analytic plans, dataset preparation, data quality validation, analytic programming, and the interpretation and communication of findings. We are looking for strong data analysts with SAS, SQL programming ability, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.
Our clients include hospitals and health systems, collaborative quality initiatives, and professional societies across various surgical specialties, health plans, and accountable care organizations.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop clear and well-structured statistical analysis plans
• Apply cutting edge statistical concepts and skills to upgrade our current process and methodology
• Provide statistical consultation to clients or colleagues, effectively mentors non-statistical peers with regard to basic statistical methodology and departmental operations
• Build statistical models, diagnose/validate/improve the performance of the models
• Communicate statistical methods and model results effectively to customers or colleagues
• Manage and analyze large data sets including clinical registries, administrative data, billing claims, insurance and other data sets
• Create efficient and reusable SQL code to manipulate and analyze data
• Maintain, upgrade and document our current SAS macro programs for doing the risk and reliability adjustment
• Monitor and validate the analytic results through our web application UI
• Work collaboratively with peers to develop analytic quality protocols
• Assist our data operation team to transform raw client data into standardized data warehouse tables, assess the data quality and completeness

Position Qualifications: • Master’s or above degree (Statistics, biostatistics, Epidemiology, Economics, Public Health, Public Policy, Mathematics)
• 3 – 5 years of analytic programming experience, preferably in healthcare
• Sound knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics. Experience of statistical risk adjustment modeling, model diagnosis and validation
• Strong experience coding in data manipulation and analysis using SAS or SQL
• Ability to assess technical challenges and program solutions, and solve complex problems
• Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in taking on multiple projects
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Record of academic and/or business achievement
