Company Information: The Departments of Computer Science and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University invite applications for a joint Postdoctoral Researcher position to work on estimating the health impact of new decision support tools in a hospital setting, based on data from electronic health records.
The position will involve close scientific collaboration with Drs. Suchi Saria (Computer Science) and Michael Rosenblum (Biostatistics). Position Title: Joint Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Biostat+CS at Johns Hopkins University (M. Rosenblum and S. Saria)

Duties and Responsibilities: -Extract relevant data from electronic health records.
-Analyze data using advanced causal inference methods (targeted maximum likelihood estimation) that estimate the effect of longitudinal interventions.
-Write manuscripts for statistical journals and for medical journals describing results of data analyses and any new methods developed for these problems.

Position Qualifications: -PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Data Science, Engineering, or other quantitative field.
-Excellent scientific writing and speaking, especially in communicating complex ideas to a wide audience.
-Strong background in statistical inference and causal inference estimation methods, including knowledge of their strengths and limitations.
-Experience applying statistical methods to draw inferences from observational studies, preferably involving medical/public health applications.
-Experience in processing very large datasets.
-Interest in open-source software, reproducibility and data management.
-Familiarity with multiple programming environments (e.g., R, Python,…), and ability to learn new tools as required.
