Research strengths in statistics at Otago include ecological and environmental statistics, stochastic modelling, point processes, Bayesian inference, hidden Markov models, scoring rules, model-averaging, over-dispersion, clinical trials, epidemiology, quantitative genetics and statistical genetics.

Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Statistics

Duties and Responsibilities: The position will be fully mentored, ensuring development of both research and teaching capability. The successful candidate will be supported to consolidate and develop research in the area of their PhD, and to develop new areas of research in collaboration with one or more of the members of the Statistics Group. While research is the main focus of the Fellowship, the position will also ensure the successful candidate develops skills in teaching.

Position Qualifications: PhD in Statistics or equivalent (recently graduated or near graduation)
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Evidence of research productivity

Salary Range: $NZ 75,896
