Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties and Responsibilities: The College of Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. This is a training position designed to learn through engagement in an advanced level of scientific research efforts in the area of statistics focused on genomics and other related areas. The appointment can start as early as Spring 2018. The basic job requirements include (1) participating in research, (2) data collection and analysis, (3) scientific papers writing, (4) seminar and conferences participation and attendance, (5) individual and collaborative scientific discovery, and (6) some level of interaction with master level students in Mathematics/Statistics.

Position Qualifications: Applicants must have a
1 Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or bioinformatics or closely related areas.
2. Strong commitment to scholarly research
3. Strong research background with previous professional activities related to genomics
Expertise in the following areas:
1) Strong background in statistical methodology, including the working knowledge of methods rooted in genomics
(2) Good oral/written communication skills and a record of collaborative research activities
(3) Basic competency in statistical language R, and packages SAS and SPSS
(4) Must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and committed to achieving excellence in the form of productivity and publications
