Company Information: Research university

Position Title: Postdoctoral associate

Duties and Responsibilities: Applications from PhD or other doctoral-level degree holders are welcomed for a full-time, NIH-funded project focused on new methods to use observational data to understand the transmission of tuberculosis in high-burden communities. We currently work with partners in countries in southern Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
We are currently seeking a postdoctoral associate who is eager to work with us to develop and apply new approaches for leveraging spatial, pathogen genomic, and epidemiological data to make inference on the patterns of tuberculosis transmission. While not essential, previous experience with infectious diseases of humans or animals is ideal. You will be joining a team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, operational researchers, and health economists interested in using existing data to better understand transmission dynamics of this respiratory pathogen.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate as lead author in publications arising from this work and to communicate findings in oral presentations at national and international conferences.
We are seeking candidates willing to commit to at least 2 years of work on this project.
We are eager to speak with candidates that are passionate about applying their existing statistical expertise to help address an urgent public health problem.

Position Qualifications: • Doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Ecology, Epidemiology, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Experience developing hierarchical Bayesian statistical methodology for spatial and/or spatiotemporal data is highly desirable.
• Strong programming skills in R and computational skills for high-dimensional data analysis.
• Collaborative research experience is desirable as this work crosses multiple disciplines

Salary Range: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
