OSU is located in Corvallis, a community of 55,000 situated in the Willamette Valley between Portland and Eugene. Ocean beaches, lakes, rivers, forests, high desert, the rugged Cascade and Coast Ranges, and the urban amenities of the Portland metropolitan area are all within a 100-mile drive of Corvallis.


Duties and Responsibilities: Position – The School of Biological and Population Health Sciences in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for one faculty member with expertise in Biostatistics. This position is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month tenure-track appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Responsibilities – Develop and maintain independent and collaborative research programs; consistently obtain external funding; advance the University’s research agenda in the areas of biostatistics and/or epidemiologic methodology; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biostatistics; advise and mentor MPH and PhD students; provide service to the University, profession, and field of public health.

Position Qualifications: Qualifications – Required qualifications include: a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or closely related field; demonstrated expertise in public health as reflected by training, research, teaching and/or service aligned with the vision and mission of the College; a demonstrable commitment to high teaching standards; and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues in the School, the College, and the University. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of (Associate Professor) or the potential to (Assistant Professor): develop strong independent and collaborative programs of research; secure external funding; deliver high-quality teaching, advising, and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and provide service to the School, College, University, and profession. Relevant post-doctoral experience, successful mentoring of junior faculty (Associate Professor), evidence of effective communication, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity are preferred.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.
