Position Title: Post Doctoral Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist, the Research Fellow will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center at Cedars-Sinai is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow interested in conducting research in early phase cancer trials. The center has currently 4 faculty, 5 staff engaged in a wide range of statistical and bioinformatics research and collaborations including but not limited to, design of early phase cancer trials using Bayesian adaptive design, bioinformatics, computational biology, big data mining, survivorship prediction, biomarker identification, and pathway and network constructions with multi-source genomic data, genetic epidemiology, and risk prediction. The post-doctoral research fellow will collaborate with faculty members on developing statistical methods for dose combination trials and collaborative cancer research projects. Supervision and mentorship of the post-doctoral research fellow will be under the direction of Dr. Mourad Tighiouart.

Position Qualifications: Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or related field and relevant research training and experience. Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with collaborators. Strong quantitative skills in the areas of biostatistics, Bayesian analysis, knowledge of early phase cancer trials. Programming experience in statistical program R, WinBUGS, JAGS.
