Biostatistics Postdoctoral Fellowship

Company Information: Applications are currently being accepted, with flexible start dates, for a postdoctoral fellowship that provides advanced training in biostatistics at VCU. The fellowship is sponsored primarily by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). VCU has a well-established, integrated network of clinical research programs serving persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other neurological disorders.

Position Title: Biostatistics Postdoctoral Fellowship

Duties and Responsibilities: This position is expected to last 2 years, with the possibility of a third year if necessary. We are seeking applicants who can collaborate with members of this network as well as apply and develop innovative statistical methodologies to advance the research needs of this network. The program offers supervision by outstanding mentors, including Drs. Jeffery Kreutzer, Adam Sima, and Dipankar Bandyopadhyay, didactic experiences, and independent and collaborative research activities. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Position Qualifications: Candidates will ideally have a doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Those who can apply their expertise to the TBI Model Systems database (a large, multisite, longitudinal database), and/or those that have extensive experience with Markov chain Monte Carlo techniques and Bayesian computing, semiparametric and nonparametric Bayesian methods, missing data methods, etc, will be preferred. However, all areas of expertise will be considered. Applicants must be US citizens who possess a Ph.D. degree prior to employment, however, applicants may apply prior to completing their degree.

Salary Range:

Benefits: The stipend is commensurate with expertise, with separate funds allocated for course tuition, conference travel, and health insurance.
