Tenure Track Assistant Professor

Company Information: The Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in applied statistics, beginning August 2018. Currently, the Department has 21 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees with emphasis in applied mathematics, mathematics, data science and mathematics education as well as masters degrees in applied mathematics, and mathematics education

Position Title: Tenure Track Assistant Professor

Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and mathematics ; advising undergraduate and graduate student projects and research; and supervising student practicum experiences and internships. The regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. A course reduction may be available for research.

Position Qualifications: The position requires a doctorate in Applied Statistics or closely related field with preference given to stochastic processes and data mining. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong commitment to and proven ability in undergraduate teaching are necessary.
