Position Title: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Informatics

Duties and Responsibilities: • Work closely with the principal investigator, and other team members to identify key challenges, answer important questions, and implement analytic ­driven solutions,

• Identify opportunities for collection or aggregation of new data and enhanced use of existing data sources,

• Design and execute appropriate analytical and statistical approaches,

• Propose research projects that will be suitable for external funding,

• Lead developing publications,

• Cleary communicate findings to other team members.

Position Qualifications: • PhD degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, information science, biostatistics, data science, or a closely related field.

• Experience in biomedical informatics research; ability to plan and carry out research experiments and projects.

• Experience in the areas of machine learning, data mining, data modeling and visualization.

• Programming experience in computer programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, R, etc.).

• Experience with statistical informatics methods.

• Experience with SQL and data warehouses.

• Superior analytical and problem solving skills, including a creative and self-motivated mindset.

• Strong written and oral communication skills required.

• Works independently and participates productively as a team player.

Benefits: Aurora Research Institute (ARI) at Aurora Health Care is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a demonstrated track record of developing advanced informatics, statistics, and computer science methods to solving real world healthcare problems. The Postdoc will join an ARI's research team that develops cutting edge research platforms to address patient-centered outcomes priority clinical challenges through data science, health services research, predictive analytics and modeling. The overall goal of the research team is to illuminate new avenues to improve patient outcomes through Big Data analytics. ARI’s research team highly values diverse data sources in order to discover new methods for improving patient care. The postdoc will support efforts to integrate and interrogate multiple and complementary datasets simultaneously and help shed light on new methods for improving patient outcomes.
