Company Information: Located in Jackson, UMMC is the state’s only academic health science center. It encompasses seven health science schools: medicine, nursing, dentistry, health related professions, graduate studies, pharmacy and population health. Position Title: Associate or Full Professor

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities are as follows:
• Provide biostatistics expertise in study design and statistical analytical planning
• Assist in preparation of grant applications and research publications
• Consult with clinical, basic and translational scientists involved in clinical trials, population‐based epidemiologic studies, and laboratory investigations
• Provide training (workshops, presentations, and tutorials) to investigators and members of their research groups
• Conduct research on statistical and methodological issues associated with biomedicine and biobehavioral health
• Serve as academic advisors to students
• Participate in curriculum development activities including the development of curricular materials and special instructional methods
• Supervise independent study activities such as practicums and internships
• Serve on university committees as assigned;
• Perform other scholarly activities

Position Qualifications: Qualifications include a doctorate in biostatistics or statistics, a strong commitment to collaborative research and education, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of junior faculty and staff.
