Position Title: Research Statistical Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities: This posting is for an analyst who will perform, and mentor others in performing, statistical analyses for a broad range of clinical research studies under the direction of the PI. The three broad research themes that these studies will span are: (1) acute care health services research; (2) large pragmatic trials involving interventions related to palliative care and end-of-life care (3) randomized trials of incentives to promote uptake of health-related behaviors such as advance care planning activities and clinical research participation. Duties include assisting a data manager in developing the organization and structure of analytic data sets; performing analyses independently with guidance from the PI and collaborating faculty statisticians; teaching students, clinical fellows, and junior faculty to perform their own analyses (e.g., serving as a resource for questions on implementing analyses in statistical software packages); preparing tables and figures for presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts; and contributing to the writing of manuscripts, typically as a co-author though opportunities will also exist for first-author papers.

Position Qualifications: Masters degree in statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology and at least 3 years of related (analytic) experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Ph.D. in one of the above disciplines is preferred; strong organizational skills; experience conducting studies in one or more of the above content areas preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to enable working with multiple members of research team; able to perform broad range of analyses in Stata is essential; additional skills in SAS and/or R are a plus; proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential; experience making manuscript-quality tables and figures in one or more of the above applications is essential.
