Position Title: postdoctoral fellowship

Duties and Responsibilities: A postdoctoral fellowship in Mathematical Statistics is available at the University of Alberta, Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences. Faculty mentors will be Professors Douglas Wiens (http://www.mathstat.ualberta.ca/~wiens/) and Linglong Kong (http://www.mathstat.ualberta.ca/~lkong/).

Position Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field, and have research interests — or be able and willing to cultivate these — in robustness, both theoretical and as applied to design of experiments, to online sampling schemes, to neuroimaging, to high-dimensional and functional data, etc. He/she will have strong skills in mathematics, computing and statistics and a demonstrated record of research.

Salary Range:

Benefits: The salary is $37056 per year and subject also to annual increases. The successful candidate will also, if eligible, be nominated for a PIMS postdoc (see https://www.pims.math.ca/scientific/postdoctoral), which can be held concurrently. As well, postdoctoral fellows in this department are normally given the opportunity to teach up to one course per term; the current rate is $7935 per course.
