Company Information: The Department of Computer Science and Statistics at University of Rhode Island is looking for a lecturer in Statistics to start in Fall 2017. The Statistics group has currently 6 full-time faculty members, 2 lecturers, and offers a variety of statistics courses, at the undergraduate and graduate level. The group is young, growing and involved in research, teaching, curriculum development and outreach.

Position Title: Lecturer in Statistics

Duties and Responsibilities: Instruct 12 credits (or the equivalent, as needed) of statistics courses per semester. Other equivalent responsibilities could include:
• .Assist the department in developing pedagogies and approaches to enhance learning outcomes and retention in statistics courses.
• Participate on outreach activities, on departmental and/or University committees, to support and improve instruction and to provide advice on curriculum in the department and at the institution.
• Departmental administrative support

Position Qualifications: 1) Masters’ degree in Statistics, biostatistics or other strongly quantitative graduate degree in hand at time of starting employment
2) Demonstrated ability and/or interest in teaching undergraduate Statistics courses
3) Demonstrated ability and/or interest to work with diverse groups.
4) Demonstrated proficiency of written and spoken English
