Position Title: Division of Biostatistics
Duties and Responsibilities: Post-doctoral Associate in Statistical Genetics/Omics and Big Data.
One or two post-doc positions are expected to be available, pending NIH funding, in the summer of 2017.
The post-doc will mainly work with Dr. Wei Pan and his collaborators within and outside the University of Minnesota. The research will focus on applying, developing and implementing novel statistical methods for GWAS/sequencing data, and integrative analysis of multiple types of omic/imaging data. The candidate is also encouraged to develop statistical and computational research in analysis of Big Data, such as deep learning. In addition to new methods development, the job responsibilities include software development (mostly in R), real data analysis, and writing manuscripts.
This annually renewable appointment is for a maximum of two years, conditional on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Position Qualifications: A PhD degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or a related field and an interest in statistical genetics/genomics are required.
