Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Duties and Responsibilities: Significant progresses have been made in understanding the involvement of genetics and environment in the development of complex diseases. Personalized disease management and intervention based on both genes and environment are being promoted as the future of public health. The Biostatistics and Biomathematics Program is recruiting one or more post-doctoral research fellows. The specific areas of interest include chronic disease risk estimation and prediction and mediation and instrumental variable analysis. The fellows will engage in statistical methodological research in survival analysis with applications in one of these areas. They will have real-hand data analysis experience by participating in large collaborative studies, in which rich data on genetics and environmental risk factors have been collected on a very large number of study participants.
Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics with emphasis in survival analysis. Strong theoretical, computational, and communication skills are desired. In particular, a successful candidate should be able to write efficient programs in R and/or C. The position is available immediately and for up to two years.
